Chris Hemsworth has signed on to star in a biopic on Netflix about the popular pro wrestler Hulk Hogan. The film will be directed by Todd Phillips and produced, in part, by Bradley Cooper, who worked with Phillips on the “Hangover” series.
According to reports, Hemsworth will play the iconic wrestler in a film said to “focus on Hogan’s rise” to fame in the 1980’s. It is further described as “an origin story of the Hulkster and Hulkamania.”
In the 1980’s, Hogan rose to become one of the biggest names in WWF and was seen appearing in numerous movies, television shows and video games. He also had his own reality TV show, Hogan Knows Best.
Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, will serve as a consultant on the film, which has no release date yet.
